Calgary First Aid proudly offers quantitative hearing protection fit testing at all three of it’s training locations in Calgary. These test meet the latest standards set by Alberta OH&S in 2023. Starting March 31, 2023, according to OHS code all employers are required to ensure that workers are fit tested annually for hearing protection devices that they wear. These tests are designed to test and measure the amount of noise reductions the hearing protector provides. Participants that attend this test will receive a pass or fail grade for the hearing protection they bring with them (typically provided by the employer or workplace). Certification for hearing protection fit testing is provided immediately upon successful completion of the test and is valid for 1 year. How Do I Register for a Test?

Prerequisites
Participants must bring the hearing protection device that is provided or used in the workplace for testing. Participants are required to know the name, brand or model number of the device used.
Certification
Once participants successfully complete the hearing protection fit test they will immediately receive OH&S approved certification that is valid for 1 year. Annual certification / recertification is required.
Cost of the Test
