Why do I need to study first aid anyway?
Having first aid training is important in order to provide quick action to injuries during emergency situations. Accidents are unanticipated events in life, that if dealt with improperly or inadequately may mean the difference between life and death. A simple cut or scrape can turn into an infection if the person providing first aid does not know how to clean a wound properly. Choking hazards often lead to death because of lack of knowledge of the Heimlich Maneuver. First aid isn’t just for health care providers. It is a set of skills that should be available in every home.

All CPR training courses are inclusive of AED training. AEDs are machines able to detect heart rhythms and apply needed shock to restart the heart. The AEDs are a vital part the emergency response system following recognition of cardiac arrest. AEDs have now become commonplace as survival rates of victims increase with CPR and defibrillation within 3-5 minutes after collapse. This is part of the most recent update of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Guidelines set by the American Heart Association and St Mark James.
