Did you Know – Signs and Symptoms of Shock
Shock is a common emergency that many rescuers learn to manage. It is caused due to a depression in the body’s circulatory system which reduces blood flow to vital areas of the body. It can become a life threatening emergency if not dealt with promptly. Here are some common signs and symptoms of this circulatory emergency:
- The victims breathing may become shallow and rapid
- The victims circulation can become weak and rapid making it difficult to find
- The victims skin can become pale, cool and clammy
- The victims strength level’s may reduce as they become restless and weak
- The victim may experience fear, anxiety, confusion, disorientation, nausea, vomiting and unconsciousness
