    Basic first aid training with Fort McMurray First Aid covers different topics including but not limited to emergency medical services (EMS), CPR and AED (cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation), and injuries that compromise of the circulatory and oxygenation systems. Basic first aid courses are 14-16 hours long.

    Stand-alone CPR/AED classes are also available. AEDs are machines that are attached to the chest and apply needed shock to restart the heart.There are three levels in CPR/AED training: A, C, and HCP, each level corresponding to a different victim age group. Levels A and C are for first time trainees, and level HCP is for health care professionals.

    Certification

    To pass a course, the student must have complete attendance, 75 percent on the written exam, and good skill demonstrations. Upon completion of the course, certificate cards are awarded to the students. They can request wall mount sized certificates as well.

    Certificates are renewable every three years through recertification programs. First aid training certification lasts 8 hours and includes CPR level A, C or HCP re-certification. These programs are for expiring or near-expiry certifications.

    Private courses

    Students who request special training at home or customers who want to book training for an event like a conference can do so with Fort McMurray First Aid. Instructors are available with hourly rates for special training so just send an e-mail or give a call to inquire about them.

    Enrolment rates

    Rates for enrolment are the most affordable at Fort McMurray First Aid, compared to other providers. They are paid once during enrolment, with no additional expenses during the rest of the training period. Rates include taxes, certification fees, and St Mark James training manuals.

    Students who drop out and are able to give 72-hour notices beforehand are entitled to full refunds of the enrolment fee.
