There are currently 4 states in the US that have our providers: California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington. You can find out the cities that have our providers in the locational pages on this website. There are many ways to sign up for CPR training, the most popular being on-line enrolment. There is a sign up form on the provider webpages that students can fill out to sign up. Other ways include e-mail, telephone call, and walk-ins during business/operating hours.

What is CPR?

If you’re not familiar with CPR, CPR means cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. CPR is used as the most basic level of medical attention given to a person who has fallen unconscious due to cardiovascular and/or respiratory arrest. Cardiac arrest can happen because of a heart attack, or when a vessel that supplies blood to the heart becomes blocked (either due to a fatty deposit or even a spasm). If the heart doesn’t receive the blood it needs, it can stop beating. CPR helps restart the heart through chest compressions and rescue breaths.

What will I learn in a CPR program?

The CPR program offered by our providers has three different categories: Heartsaver CPR and AED, Heartsaver CPR and AED (C), and BLS for healthcare providers. The first one is catered towards the general public or people who don’t work in healthcare. The last two are for healthcare providers (HCPs) and people who are still studying healthcare.

  • Heartsaver CPR and AED – 4 hour program; 1 person rescue; optional certification exam at the end of the program
  • Heartsaver CPR and AED (C) – 4 hour program; 1 person rescue; mandatory certification exam at the end of the program
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) for HCPs – 4.5 hour program; 1 and 2 person rescue; mandatory certification exam at the end of the program

There are no renewal programs available for the Heartsaver programs, only the BLS for HCPs program. The renewal program runs for 4 hours. Students can choose to include first aid classes with any of the programs.

How long will my certification last?

Certification from any of our providers is valid for only 2 years. After 2 years, these certificates can be renewed through a renewal class. However, if your certificate has expired, you will have to retake the entire program. Full programs and renewal classes are available throughout the entire week, even weekends and evenings if the regular schedules cannot accommodate all the trainees. Flexible scheduling is of the strong points of our providers.
