Bone spur of the wrist are growths of bone on the surface of the wrist bone. The bone spur grow very slowly but sometimes they grow rapidly and very unpredictable. Bone spurs does not usually cause pain, but it may cause pain when pressing against surrounding tissues and rubbing against the nerves.

Symptoms

- Apply ice pack on the affected area to lessen the pain and the swelling. Place ice in a plastic bag and place on the affected area for at least 7-10 minutes.
- Injections of prescribed corticosteroid to lessen the pain and improve range of movement.
- Rehabilitation exercises can help improve the mobility of the wrist and lessen the pain. The exercises will lessen pressure placed on the area.
- Take cold and hot bath. Take a hot bath and then follow it with a cold water bath to lessen the pain and the swelling to bone spur on the wrist.
Tips
- Take frequent breaks when working in the computer to lessen the repetitive movement of the wrist.
- Maintain healthy normal body weight by eating a healthy diet and performing regular exercises regularly.
- Avoid performing activities that involves repetitive stressing of the wrist. Wear proper safety equipment when performing high-impact sports to prevent development of bone spurs.
