Course Information

Standard First Aid

Standard first aid is one of the most popular courses. It includes CPR training which is usually at level “C” (CPR for all ages). Participants can also opt to have level “HCP” (Health Care Provider) partner with the course. This class teaches a number of first aid topics including heart attacks, angina, anaphylaxis, hyperventilation, wound management, head and neck injuries, spinals, broken bones, hypothermia, and many more. A St Mark James first aid manual is included in the course. Re-certifications are available and take half the time to complete. This course is offered in a blended format, meets WorkSafeBC standards for intermediate first aid training and includes AED certification. Certificate is valid for 3 years.

Emergency First Aid

This course is a popular one day program that also includes CPR and AED training. It comes standard with CPR level “A” (adult and child CPR) but participants can opt to have it with level “C” or “HCP”. It covers some basic topics in first aid including wound management, circulatory and breathing emergencies. A St Mark James first aid manual is included in the course. This course is also referred to as basic first aid and meets OFA level 1 certification standards for WorkSafeBC.

Advanced First Aid

This complicated first aid course includes 2 weeks of training in a blended format. One week is completed on-line at your own pace and the other is completed in class for the practical components. Certification meets OFA level 3 standards for WorkSafeBC and is valid for 3 years.

Mask Fit Testing

This 30 minute exam is designed for individuals that work / learn in areas that require masks. This qualitative mask fit test provides participants with the opportunity to test the effective of the mask(s) used in his / her workplace. Certification is provided upon completion of the exam.

Food Safe Level 1

Participants are able to complete workplace approved food safe certification. Customers can simply complete the course via the on-line course and complete examination at the Coquitlam training centre. The on-line course takes approximately 8 hours to complete and the exam takes approximately 1 hour.

CPR Courses

Customers that want CPR and AED only training can register for a number of courses including private infant CPR courses where an instructor comes to you. Certification programs include CPR level “A”, “C” and “HCP”. Re-certifications are available for the latter 2. Courses vary in length from 3 hours to 6 hours.
