We offer the best Advanced Cardiac Life Support programs in the US. There is no other team of providers that can offer better quality training or better rates. Most of our trainees for the ACLS program are either healthcare providers and professionals or students studying healthcare programs (nurses, physical therapists, etc.). Enrolling in ACLS training is incredibly easy, with numerous ways through the website and in person in any of the providers.  Finding your course is as easy as visit the site and looking at a list of offered programs.

What is ACLS?

Advanced Cardiac Life Support is a level of medical help given to patients by ACLS-trained healthcare providers. While Basic Life Support – BLS – is the training given to the general public when managing a cardiovascular emergency, ACLS is much more complicated and comprehensive, focusing on providing CPR to victims in a clinical setting. By clinical setting, we mean hospitals, out patient centers, and other healthcare set ups with complete equipment for addressing cardiac arrest.

What will I learn in an ACLS program?

The ACLS program teaches the trainees the team-based approach in managing a “code”. A “code” is a medical term used when a patient goes into cardiac arrest. In the hospital, a code is answered by the code team, made up of a team leader and other members. The team leader manages or leads the code while the other members perform chest compressions, give rescue breaths, and give the medications ordered by the team leader. A team leader can be a physician or a nurse practitioner.

Pharmacology is a very important part of ACLS training. Clinical set ups will always have a crash cart, a cart complete with all the equipment and medication needed to answer a code. There are different medications given during and after a code that ACLS-trained rescuers need to know. Different methods of airway management are also included such as give rescue breaths to patients with endotracheal or tracheal tubes.

What else do I need to know about ACLS training?

ACLS training is a 2-day program that is 16 hours long. It is a mandatory certification program, where a set of pre-tests and post-tests are given. In order to qualify for this program, trainees need to pass a set of pre-tests – a skills test and a written exam. A valid, BLS for healthcare providers certificate is also required. Our BLS for healthcare providers program is 4.5 hours long, with a renewal program of 4 hours long.

When does my certificate expire?

All of the certification awarded by our providers are valid for only two years. If you have a certificate that is near or about to expire, the renewal program is 5 to 6 hours long. Renewal programs are only available to students who have certificates that are still valid. Expired certification cannot be renewed; students need to take the entire program in that case.

Where can I sign up?

We have a number of providers located in several states: California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington. Choose one from our locational pages and start your training today!
